Katherine Reid Brumwell Funeral Director/ Manager

Katherine Reid Brumwell is the funeral director/manager of Elliott Chapel, New London. She was born and raised in Henry County and graduated from New London High School, Kirkwood Community College, Southeastern Community College and Worsham Mortuary School in Wheeling, IL. She has been married to her husband, Wayne since 1976 and they have three children, Crenna Brumwell, Dubuque City Attorney, Cully Brumwell, owner of CropStar Consulting in Yarmouth and Corbin Brumwell, Assistant Team Leader and Buyer at Scheels Sporting Goods in Coralville. She is “Oma” to Holden, Harper, Liam, Brynlee Katherine and Audrey! She is on the board of Southeast Iowa Symphony, Great River Hospice and involved in many other organizations. She enjoys gardening, antiques and being with her family.

Sue Aanes

Sue Aanes has been with Elliott Chapel since 1996. She and her husband, Steve, have lived in New London for many years and now live just south of town on an acreage with a pond and beach that the grandchildren enjoy.   Together they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January of 2020! Both Steve and Sue are loyal Iowa Hawkeye fans and Sue is very active with P.E.O. and will be the Iowa State Chapter President for the 2020-2021 year.

Charles Lorber

Charles Lorber is a vital part of New London as he was the principal in New London for over 30 years. He and his wife Irma travel often with the Iowa Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals. They have many grandchildren to keep them busy also.

Karla Denning

Karla Denning is another part-time important person on the Elliott Chapel staff. She and her husband Ron live outside of New London and keep busy with farming, raising cattle and spoiling their grandchildren.

Wayne Strahlman

Wayne Strahlman is our Jack of all trades…. every funeral home needs one! He and his wife Peggy are busy, busy people. They garden, fish, read, and enjoy each others company. Wayne fixes everything that needs fixed at Elliott Chapel!

Bob Schroeder

Bob Schroeder is a retired teacher/coach.  He and his wife Sandy have lived in Danville over 50 years.  They enjoy spending time with their family and attending their grandchildren’s activities and ballgames. Bob is an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinal fan.  In his spare time, you can find Bob on the golf course.

Colleen Lamm

Colleen Lamm joined the staff at Elliott Chapel on January 1, 2016. She and her husband Dennis live in New London. Together they have three grown children and nine grandchildren. Colleen enjoys cooking and spending time with family. She is a DIE HARD St. Louis Cardinals fan. She loves watching and attending games as much as possible.
